Grotowski workshop, Warsaw

The aim of this workshop is to form a group of international student group working on a legacy of Jerzy Grotowski in Poland. Works of Jerzy Grotowski were connected exclusively with his group of actors and his works are complete and theoretically well researched. Though his philosophy of actors body and ideas inherent in performances are highly inspiring – group of young people researching them in practice may have a chance to reach some of their limits at their current level of acting development. Pushing the limits means also making a short happening at the and of a workshop.

Concept: Waldemar Razniak
Teachers: prof. Maja Komorovska – former Grotowski actress will give a lecture on his performances and Tomasz Rodowicz – former Grotowski student and assistant will guide the students through Grotowski methods
Partners: all 8 partners are participating (Total 18 persons + additional Polish students)

  • This project will help to create a better understanding among young theatre practitioners on what Jerzy Grotowski wanted to achieve while working in Poland
    • Working on acting techniques used by Grotowski is a good way to get familiar with what Polish theatre and Polish acting means today
    • Planning

      • one week in February 2017 (winter holiday)
